The Thompson School District is one of the larger employers, the 60,000 square-foot Lehman Printing Center provides state-of-the-art commercial printing and PTI manufacturing is an international manufactured housing company. Agriculture is still important to Berthoud. Many residents commute to Loveland, Longmont, Boulder, Fort Collins and the Denver area.

Festivals

Berthoud Days occur annually on the first Saturday in June and begins with a parade and ends in the Town Park. Fickel Park offers a sculpture park, Berthoud has a strong independent art community. Through the summer, the town also plays host to a farmers' market.
